How to improve the production quality of stamping parts
Source: Release time: 2023.05.08
There are various types and complex shapes of automotive stamping parts, and some adverse phenomena often occur during stamping production. Shaanxi Heavy Automobile has made beneficial explorations on how to avoid problems based on its own actual situation.

The middle cover bracket is a key load-bearing connector of the integrated dashboard assembly in the car cab, and is an important component to ensure the stable and reliable use of various automotive instruments. Due to the high-speed rotation of high-power engines and the harsh driving conditions of vehicles, it is easy to cause strong vibrations and bumps in the driver's cab, resulting in open circuit or malfunction of instrument circuits and some functions in the front control panel. Therefore, the intermediate protective support must be able to withstand impacts, bending fatigue loads, and torque, thus requiring it to have sufficient bending strength, shear strength, and good toughness. In addition, if the part exceeds the allowable stress during forming, or if microcracks extend to a certain extent, causing tearing or tilting, not only will it waste material, but it will also cause the mold to be under eccentric load operation, accelerating mold aging.

In the production of the dashboard bracket assembly in the driver's cab, it was found that after stamping production, the left/right bracket of the middle cover often experiences tearing and tilting. These defects are mainly distributed at the hole shape of the workpiece, the corner of the side wall, and the junction of the R arc and the wall neck. After careful analysis, we believe that the main reasons are due to the unstable forming and guiding of the material core during the operation of the mold, the unadjustable gap between the concave mold and the material core after long-term wear, and improper design of the mold structure. Therefore, corresponding control measures can be proposed from both technical and management perspectives, and provide reference for similar part processes, mold design, and forming processing.
